Hearing a lot about Farzi cafe which recently opened in our Pink City. Before saying anything else, Farzi Cafe is one of its kind cafe in terms food, presentation, taste, staff training and service. I had to visit this cafe and last wednesday I went there with a fellow blogger @veebeehunger. This cafe did not fail to impress in any parameter whether its about service, food or ambiance. Lets start with the review
Location
Quiet easily accessible and parking is not an issue.
Ambience
Very wonderful and fabulous interiors with the use of maroon and greenish furniture, golden lighting….. and really comfortable. Its quiet big and nicely set and you have different sitting options. They are also working on outside sitting area which will be ready soon. That was also pretty. I was so mesmerised by the food, i think forgot ambiance.
Staff & Service
Well trained staff with good act of knowledge n respect. They know exactly what they are serving, how to serve that, how to attend their customers, pleasing them, making sure customers return satisfied. Service is impeccable. Trust me i have not seen this level of attention to staff and service anywhere else. We were attended by Mr. Aashish Milind and he was truly amazing guy, made our experience even better.
Menu
Well prepared menu n upcoming with their modified menus in every 6 months. They are promoting Indian food and serving it in international style. Some fusion with the basic food to make it farzi style.
Food @ Farzi Cafe
Most awaited and the best part about this place. They are using edible chemicals to present their food in a outstanding manner. Molecular gastronomy, chemical reactions, to make the food look super cool. They excel in presentation of the food. Taste of the food is truly desi with videsi touch… Loved the concept.
Food looks like something else but taste exactly what you order and thats how they do justice to the name “Farzi”. So without further ado lets starts with the food and drinks we enjoyed their…
Amuse Bouche (Strawberry yogurt balls) :-
So this comes as the first course amuse bousche from the chef to our table and we are just mesmerized by the presentation. Cloudy foggish smoke and two shots of pink colored balls in front of us. It was sweet strawberry flavored yogurt balls formed by a chemical reaction. A thin layer formed outside and liquid sweetness inside. Bursts into your mouth. Very nice in taste too.
Chuski Margarita
It was a tequila based cocktail with aam panna flavored chuski. Very different and very good. This is a amazing drink if you like tequila.
Granny Mint Royal
This was a beauty to my eyes… The way it came and then served with all that mint foam on top and infused with mint aroma. This drink was vodka based, i found it a bit lemony so it was changed in a jiffy and made to my taste. Perfecto… It was a quiet strong drink but the taste was so good… very nice
Chai pani
This was a really special cocktail with tea concoction, triple sec, kahlua and vodka. Perfectly balanced tea flavor and served in a cute tea pot. Good to taste and good to share.
Farzi Idea
Bulb shaped glass, this drink was funny to see and good to have. Very strong flavor of sambuca (aniseed flavor liquor) mixed with vodka. It was a nice drink but really strong flavor of aniseed. So order only if you like flavor of fennel.
Raw papaya salad
Beautiful salad both in terms of looks and taste. Crispy grated raw papaya with crunchy peanuts and lotus stem chips. Sweet and sour dressing. I simply loved it. I am gonna try to make it myself.
Dal Chawal Aranchini
Basic dal chawal, our Indian homely food… prepared and formed into a ball, wrapped in a crunchy crust and deep fried. These were served with house made achari mayo, cute little papad rolls and tomato chutney. I must say they took dal chawal to another level, ghar ka dal chawal became an exotic restaurant dish and it tasted delicious. I loved the achari mayo.
Jackfruit Cigar rolls
Trust me I have never seen a restaurant serving jackfruit before and they served this amazing starter which was stuffed with masala jackfruit. It was really good.
Thai green curry paneer tikka
This was paneer tikka with thai green curry marinate and served with sambhal mayo. Very spicy. If you like thai food, you will love this dish.
Golgappa Platter
I am an ardent fan of golgappas and can have them anytime. They served it in a beautiful thali with sour and sweet water, 4 types of stuffing (green pea, matara chole, aaloo, namkeen). Golgappas were of semolina. These were really good, but i felt that size of golgappa should have been a little bigger as space for stuffing and water is less.
Lollipop (Palate cleanser)
This was a candy flavor like tamarind (Swad candy from 90’s) and was topped with a little tamarind chutney. This was served between starters and main course so that tongue can get cleansed of all flavors and get ready for new taste.
Winter Veg Tava Bhaji with Chili Garlic Pav
This was a exotic pav bhaji. Bhaji was not made with potato or cauliflower but with zuchichi , bell pepper like exotic veggies and cheese. Instead of potato, bhujia was served on top. The pav was infused with garlic and chili flakes, this was little hard, more softer pav will be better. Tastewise this dish was a winner for me…. different than traditional on but very delicious. Presentation again was really pretty, pav in a little truck and bhaji in a beautiful bowl.
Matka Chole with Luchi Puff
Luchi is a Bengali dish which is very soft puri prepared with refined flour. These were served with matka cholas, chopped onion and fried potato chunks. This dish was very authentic. It was scrumptious.
Dirt Pie (Highly reccomended)
I dont have words to describe this chocolaty goodness. It was an amazing combination of chocolate vermicilli, fresh fruits, edible flowers, chocolate sauce and more chocolate. When I had the first spoon of it, felt like I reached to chocolate heaven. Must must have.
Bailey’s Lollipop
This was a lollipop with frozen rabri, coated with chocolate and infused with Bailey’s Irish Whiskey. This was also very good.
This is truly a amazing cafe, please do visit, and enjoy. Its a high end cafe so a little expensive but totally worth it. You wont regret a single penny you spent there.
