Speciality- North Indian and Chats
Tansukh, a fine dining restaurant from the Kanha group is a multicuisine restaurant serving north indian, south indian, indo chinese, continental and rajasthani food. Although it serves variety of cuisines, but i must say it specializes in North Indian. This is a chain restaurant by Kanha group. Each place have a sweet shop, kanha self-service restaurant and fine dining Tansukh.
I visit the one in c-scheme as it is nearest to my place. I have been to this place number of times.
Location:
It is located at a very prime location and very easy to find. Ample parking space, so no problems there.
Ambiance:
Nice family environment and very simple sober decor, furniture is quite comfortable, sofa on the sides, well arranged tables.
Staff and service :
Different experience every time. Once it was too good, Steward was really attentive and well mannered, made good suggestions. Other time, we had to call the people to get the menus and water, no one came till 10-15 minutes we were sitting in the restaurant. So i would say inconsistent but food preparation is quick and you don’t have to wait much after ordering.
Food :
Finally the part, what we most enjoy. So for an overall rating, i would say no to Chinese, and yes to North Indian, ok ok to continental. Rajasthani food, I am yet to try.
Spring Rolls
These were crisp but not as they should be, crust was not as tasty and filing was also okok. Chutney served with it was spicy and nice. Presentation wise, nothing extraordinary.
Paneer tikka
I must say, one of the must try dishes in tansukh, well spiced, nice soft and smoky, served a spicy salad of onions and green chutney. Really good.
Honey chilli potato
Well it niether looked nor tasted anything like honey chilli potatoes, it was like french fries toasted in little sauce and served on a bed of honey.
Spinach soup
It was gooood, hot and greeny, not too thick, just as i like my soup to be, lightly spiced and seasoned.
Tomato soup
It came with the thali we ordered. It was good too.
White sauce pasta
It was creamy, saucy, tasted average.
OTC pizza
Crisp, cheesy and very indianised version of a pizza. But i kind of like it. Its not at all authentic but tastes good.
Tansukh Special thali
This thali is enough for two people.
Lachcha parantha, misi roti and plain roti all were good, crisp and properly cooked, not chewy
Dal makhani was really tasty.
Paneer gravy was not up to the mark.
Mix veg was delicious
Tan sukh special vegetable was a very rich gravy with dry nuts and fruits, bit on a sweeter side, but i liked the taste
Rasmalai was good but too sweet
Pulao was simple and nice.
Papad, green salad and raita was also served.
Pickles, and vinegar onions were served as sides.
Chinese -I tried
Chilly paneer : Spicy and tasty
Manchurian : Average
Chowmien: Bland
Cold coffee: Not good
Mix. veg in hot garlic sauce : Damn too spicy, not edible
Schezwan Fried rice : Too much chilli, no salt, tasteless
Well You should give this restaurant a try for north indian food, paneer tikka must have, say no to chinese except chilli paneer. Street food here comes from kanha which is really good, you can definitely give it a try.
Cost : 1500 approx for 4 people, reasonable.
